Learning Objectives

  • Identify and discuss the dynamics, organizational behavior principles and social psychological background of team performance and motivation, and through exercises, learn how to translate these precepts into action within their organization and in settings outside of their organization.
  • Define the general reasons that conflicts and disputes occur in organizations and within smaller work groups, and learn how to appraise situations when this occurs and apply various remedies for the resolution or minimization of these disputes and conflicts.
  • Describe the various precepts which make a good performance management and appraisal system and learn the application of these concepts through participation in various team exercises.
  • Interpret how customer-focused strategies used in business settings, can be adopted for use in medical and group practices and apply those techniques determined most effective in motivation one's team and colleagues to understand this orientation.

The AOA~Kellogg Leadership Series has been specifically designed for the orthopaedic surgeon interested in expanding their leadership and executive management skills. The series is delivered in Module format and can be taken in any sequence. Each module offers interactive, engaging courses and world-renowned instructors.
