AOA Award for Distinguished Contributions to Orthopaedics
Candidate Criteria

Among the criteria the AOA Award Selection Committee uses to determine the award winner is pre-eminence in one or more of the following areas:
- Clinical
- Educational
- research
- Other meritorious service

In addition, the Committee will consider:
- Contributions that have changed or influence the art and science of orthopaedics
- Lifetime contributions
- Contributions that are international in scope
- Contributions that extend beyond research
