AOA Distinguished Clinician Educator Award* - Nomination Deadline Extended to December 1, 2008.

The AOA Distinguished Clinician Educator Award represents national recognition of exceptional orthopaedic clinician educators. The award recognizes the critical role of the educator-leaders within orthopaedics.

The award emphasizes the critical role of clinician educators within academic health centers and is designed to foster leadership within the discipline of orthopaedic medicine, thereby advancing the art and science of orthopaedics.

Clinician educators serve as both teachers and clinicians in academic medicine. These individuals are vital to the mission of an academic health center, where state-of-the-art educational programs demand faculty time devoted to training medical students, graduate students, residents and other health professionals.

The key to success for any organization, academic or otherwise, is to have a group that is not only technically proficient but also has the passion to share that proficiency with others. Those who receive this award are the best and the brightest and are role models for others to emulate. These recipients truly set the standard for professional excellence.
