AOA-C. Howard Hatcher Pathology Fellowship

About the C. Howard Hatcher Pathology Fellowship

The C. Howard Hatcher Pathology Fellowship was developed in 1983 and was named in honor of the late C. Howard Hatcher, MD. The Hatcher Fellowship is designed to enrich orthopaedic surgeons with post-graduate experience in musculoskeletal oncology, with an anticipation of an academic career in musculoskeletal oncology. The Fellowship grant only supports fellowships that do not have available funding.

The Fellowship is offered annually to US and international orthopaedic surgeons who have completed an accredited orthopaedic surgery residency or its equivalent. Applicants must obtain a fellowship prior to seeking support from the C. Howard Hatcher Fellowship fund.

Eligibilty Requirements:

  • Orthopaedic surgeons in the USA and abroad who have completed an orthopaedic surgery residency or its equivalent
  • The Hatcher program was set-up to help support fellowships that DO NOT have existing funds available
  • Applicants must obatin a fellowship PRIOR to seeking support from the Hatcher Fellowship Fund
  • International fellowship exchange is preferred

Available Funds:

$5,000 to $8,500.  Funds provided to Fellow and not to be used by the institution.
