AOA-North American Traveling Fellowship (NATF)
The AOA-North American Traveling Fellowship was suggested in 1968 at an AOA Executive Committee meeting. As a result, an ‘ad hoc’ committee consisting of A.H. Crenshaw, MD, B.H. Curtis, MD, J.N. Garber, MD, J.S. Miles, MD, and Don O’Donoghue, MD, was appointed to further study exchange fellowships throughout the world and to determine the feasibility of increasing exchange fellowships with foreign countries. In 1969, the committee’s proposal of orthopaedic surgeons traveling to orthopaedic centers around the US and Canada was accepted. The Tour promotes significant clinical and scientific exchange and fellowship and has developed into an intense introduction to the diverse ways that leaders address the challenges that face orthopaedics today.
Congratulations to the 2007 North American Traveling Fellows!
