The AOA-OREF Resident Leadership Forum identifies PGY4 residents as young orthopaedic leaders by recognizing their accomplishments to-date and by giving them an opportunity to further develop their leadership skills. Attendees are asked to think critically about leadership and how they can apply it to the specialty.
This two-day event introduces the concept of leadership to young orthopaedists through sessions on: - leadership development - peer-to-peer interaction - resident-to-leader interaction
By holding the Resident Leadership Forum in conjunction with the AOA's Annual Meeting, attendees have opportunities to: - meet orthopaedic leaders at professional and social events - participate in AOA activities.
Residents return to their programs with: - a new understanding of what it means to be an orthopaedic leader as they enter year five of their residency - a new sense of responsibility to the orthopaedic community - access to a Community of Leaders
