About AOA Membership

The American Orthopaedic Association: a Community of Leaders

The American Orthopaedic Association has long been recognized as a Community of Leaders within orthopaedics.

Since its inception, the AOA has been an outwardly focused, mission-based organization committed to furthering the art and science of orthopaedics. The AOA has continued this tradition of outward, big-picture thinking.

At the core of the AOA you will find individuals who share areas of interest that together guide the specialty.

The AOA focuses on leadership issues through its elected members. AOA members work to expand an already prestigious list of contributions that benefit the entire orthopaedic community.

The AOA also looks inward, challenging each member of the community to make individual contributions to assist the organization in delivering on its mission.

The AOA serves a vital mission in Orthopaedic Surgery by identifying, developing and promoting our current and future leaders. The organization provides tremendous value to its members by providing a forum for discussion and problem solving of the most critical issues confronting our profession. I have personally benefited immensely from both a personal and professional standpoint and am proud to be a member.
