Tribute Gifts - Gifts that honor,
remember or celebrate...
Any gift to the AOA can also be a fitting tribute to an orthopaedic
leader. You may make a contribution in honor of a mentor or
colleague as a birthday, anniversary, holiday or special occasion
gift. It can also be a personal remembrance that honors the life
and memory of a colleague, friend, mentor or relative. When a
tribute gift is received, the AOA immediately thanks the donor
and informs the honoree or any person the donor wishes us to
notify. Please keep this in mind when making your gift to the
AOA.
Gifts of Cash
Please be advised that cash gifts are currently being accepted
via check or credit card. Credit card or check donations can be
made via the gift envelope. Checks can be made payable to:
The American Orthopaedic Association
6300 N. River Road, Suite 505
Rosemont, IL 60018-4263
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of securities that are valued by the donor are also accepted.
Please provide your contribution with a designation of fund use, if
so desired. If you are making a contribution in the form of
securities, please provide a written valuation with your
contribution. Donors are encouraged to discuss options with their
tax advisors. The value of gifts of stock will be the closing price
on the date of the transfer to the organization. It is important
that Donors not sell stock first.
Donor Acknowledgement &
Recognition
The American Orthopaedic Association is a registered 501(c)(3)
organization; gifts are tax-deductible in accordance with law. All
donors will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes. The
AOA encourages Donors to seek independent, professional counsel
prior to making a gift to address any conflict of interest issues.
Any fees or legal advice sought by the Donor related to the
donation are the Donor's responsibility. Donors will be
acknowledged on the AOA website and in AOA News
for one year. No matter what its size, all gifts are important and
help the AOA to continue to fulfill its mission to identify,
develop, engage and recognize leadership to further the art and
science of orthopaedics.
The AOA is pleased to recognize its members for their generous
contributions. Note: To be acknowledged as a 2012
contribution, gifts must be received no later than December 31,
2012.
