Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Traveling Fellowship

Overview

In even-numbered years, a group of six Fellows from Southeast Asia participate in a tour of orthopaedic centers across the US, concluding with the AOA Annual Meeting. Each of the following Southeast Asian nations sends a Fellow:

  • Indonesia
  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam

The AOA coordinates tours focused on a variety of regions across the US, but does not send orthopaedists on an exchange tour to any of the ASEAN nations.

Historical Information

In 1992, the ASEAN Orthopaedic Association created the ASEAN Traveling Fellowship. Two Fellows were selected to tour the US. Since that time, Fellows have toured orthopaedic centers across the US, concluding their tour at the AOA Annual Meeting.
