AOA/CORD Orthopaedic Residency Information Network (ORIN®)

The Orthopaedic Residency Information Network (ORIN®) functions as a central portal of information about all CORD-member orthopaedic surgery residency programs across the United States. Medical students can use this tool to explore orthopaedic surgery residency programs. Programs can use this tool to highlight program information, strengths, and opportunities.

To update program data, CORD Member institution program directors and administrators should use this separate link to login. Questions? Please reach out to cord@aoassn.org.

ORIN® is designed to help medical students develop an application plan specifically for orthopaedic surgery residency.

Students can use available search parameters to determine the programs that best align with their needs. Search parameters include median USMLE Step 1 and 2 scores, percentage of minority or female residents, number of residents, and geographical location.

Program information is sourced directly by program administrators and directors.

All information available to medical students within ORIN® is directly reported by the program itself. This reduces inaccuracies often found in crowdsourced documents. Program managers have a login and can add and edit program data, as needed.

What is a “CORD Member Program”?

CORD Member programs account for 96% of orthopaedic surgery residency programs. A CORD Member institution is defined as a program which holds membership in the AOA’s Council of Orthopaedic Residency Directors, a body of educators dedicated to facilitating excellence in musculoskeletal graduate medical education.
